Re - Your Executive Order: Blocking Property of Persons Undermining the Sovereignty of Lebanon or Its Democratic Processes and Institutions

Dear Mr. President

The World Maronite Union takes this opportunity to extend to you personally and to your administration generally, our deepest gratitude for your continuous steadfast support for the preservation and protection of the sovereignty of Lebanon, its independence and democratic freedoms and processes.

It is most gratifying to know that the President of the world’s greatest superpower is compassionate to the protective needs of a small nation which has been attempting to build a successful democracy for over 60 years.

Mr. President, you can be assured that most of the Lebanese people, and the Maronites be they at home or throughout the Diaspora, may not be able to individually convey their gratitude to you, however, like their brothers and sisters the American people, enjoy the opportunities of enterprise as well as the freedoms of expression through Public Assembly, Speech, Religion and political debate. Your support for the protection of these precious freedoms gives all of us a welcomed chance of reviving and enjoying the spirit of a true and solid democracy in our beloved Lebanon.
